At some point in the mid-20th century, some scholars within the church began to discover some problems with their initial interpretation of 'Book of Mormon' geography. 4

Archaeological data, common sense and issues of scale forced some LDS scholars to re-think the geography described within the Book of Mormon. 4

The outcome of this re-thinking has created a number of interpretive works by LDS scholars that lean toward a new scenario in Mesoamerica, on a much smaller scale. 4
